The difference

Don't outsource a project.
Build your team.

Most estimating help ends when the takeoff comes back over the wall. We do the opposite — we stand up a dedicated estimating team in your trade that learns your business and works as part of your in-house shop. Start part-time or with one estimator, and grow to a full desk as your bid list grows.

Outsource a project

One file, then it's over

A takeoff comes back with no context and no continuity — nobody who remembers your last bid, learns your standards, or gets sharper on your next one. Fine for a one-off. Wrong for a steady bid list.

Build your team — with us

Estimators who are yours

A dedicated crew that learns your historicals, your win/loss patterns, and your standards — trained, managed, and QA-backed by us, working as part of your in-house shop. Full-time, part-time, or as-needed — and exclusively yours.

How we build it

People · Process · Software

Three layers that turn an outside vendor into an inside team.

01 — People

Estimators who already speak your scope.

We recruit for your trade — then train them on your templates, your historicals, and the way you win. You get the estimator. We carry the hiring, training, QA, PTO coverage, and overhead.

  • Skilled estimators by trade — subs and GCs
  • Trained on your standards & past bids
  • Your time zone · your tools · your templates
  • Managed & QA-backed — dedicated, never shared
02 — Process

Pre-construction, owned end to end.

From finding the right projects to a submitted, defensible bid — we run the full pre-construction lifecycle like an in-house consultant, not a takeoff shop.

  • Project sourcing & GC outreach
  • Scope writing, takeoffs & labor-hour models
  • Unit rates benchmarked to market and your own wins
  • RFIs, VE, scope leveling, proposals & bid follow-up
03 — Software

Your software. Your formats. We build on them.

Whatever you estimate in — Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel, STACK, or your own bid templates and spreadsheets — our estimators work in it, in your formats and your layouts, and build on what you already have. Then we add our own AI tools, Build Intel and Dexter, on top.

  • Your software — 100+ tools, whatever you use today
  • Your estimating formats, templates and bid forms — kept exactly as you like them
  • Dexter — our AI co-estimator that reads your drawings and specs
  • AI-assisted takeoffs learned from 140,000+ jobs estimated
  • Automated QC that flags gaps before you submit

AI-enabled estimating

AI-enabled estimating, human-verified.

Every Bidding Enterprise team works with Build Intel, our AI-assisted estimating software, and Dexter, our AI co-estimator — so bids move faster and more consistently. AI drafts; an experienced estimator checks every output, and our QA team reviews it before it reaches you. In your software and your formats — we build on what you already use.

Dexter reads your drawings & specs

Ask what a spec section requires or where a detail lives, and get an answer with the sheet or section cited — so your estimator can check it in seconds.

AI-assisted takeoffs

Guided takeoffs learned from 140,000+ jobs estimated, so quantities start faster and come out more consistent — then your estimator checks every count.

Automated scope leveling

Sub and supplier bids are normalized into one comparison, with exclusions and gaps flagged for your estimator to confirm.

AI QC before you submit

Missing scope and outlier numbers are flagged before the bid leaves the building — then our QA team signs off.

FAQ

Construction estimating services — common questions

What are construction estimating services?

Construction estimating services give contractors outside estimating capacity: quantity takeoffs, labor and unit-rate pricing, scope review, sub and supplier coordination, and bid-ready proposals. Bidding Enterprise delivers them as a dedicated estimating team that works as part of your in-house shop — trained on your standards, working in your software, and managed and QA-backed by us.

How is a dedicated estimating team different from outsourcing a project?

A project vendor sends back one takeoff and moves on. A dedicated team stays with you: the same estimators learn your historicals, templates, and win/loss patterns, so every bid gets sharper. Your team is exclusive to your company, works in your time zone and software, and is backed by our QA and management.

What software do your estimators use?

Whatever you already use. Our estimators work in any of 100+ estimating and takeoff tools — Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, On-Screen Takeoff, and trade-specific programs are just examples — using your templates and cost data. Teams also get Build Intel, our AI-assisted estimating software with Dexter, a co-estimator that reads drawings and specs.

Can I hire a part-time construction estimator?

Yes. You can start with a part-time or as-needed estimator and grow to full-time or a complete estimating desk as your bid list grows. Every estimator is dedicated to your company rather than shared, and we handle hiring, training, QA, and coverage — so capacity flexes up or down without you adding headcount.

How fast can you start?

Most clients finish the free assessment and setup in about an hour, with their estimator typically on their bids in under 7 days. On that call we review your trade, software, and the bids you're chasing, then map the team we'd build. Delivery timelines for individual bids depend on project size and scope, so we agree on them bid by bid.

How fast can I get an estimator?

Typically in under 7 days. The free assessment and setup take about an hour; then we match a dedicated estimator trained for your trade, and most clients have that estimator on their bids in under 7 days. It is a good-faith target, not a guarantee — timing depends on your trade, software, and bid volume.

How do the 15 days of free estimating work?

Book a free assessment and tell us your trade and the bids you're chasing. If you qualify, we assign a dedicated estimator who works as your estimator for 15 days — on your live bids, in your software and your formats, at no cost. It works for full-time, part-time, and as-needed teams and is subject to approval.

What happens after the 15 days?

Nothing, unless you choose to continue — there is no obligation. If you continue, service moves to a quarterly agreement: a 3-month term that renews each quarter until cancelled, under a signed client agreement, whether your team is full-time, part-time, or as-needed. Your estimator typically stays on your bids, so there is no restart.

Limited start dates each month

Your estimator learns your business before touching your bids.

Before your estimator starts, we train them on your trade, your past jobs, your takeoff software and your bid format — and our QA team reviews their work. That takes real time, so we only start a limited number of new contractors each month.
