Construction accounting services — common questions
What construction accounting services do you provide?
We provide construction accounting services through dedicated bookkeepers and accountants: bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, job costing, WIP schedules, AIA pay application support, lien waiver tracking, reconciliations, and month-end close support. Your team works in your accounting software as part of your office, and you approve every payment and filing.
Are you a CPA firm?
No. We provide construction bookkeeping and accounting support; we are not a CPA firm and do not provide tax, audit, attest, or legal advice or opinions. Your team prepares the books and reports for your review and for your CPA, who remains responsible for tax returns, audits, reviews, and financial statement opinions.
Which accounting software do you use?
Whatever you already use. Our team works in QuickBooks, Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, and other construction accounting software — those are just examples — using your chart of accounts, cost codes, and report formats. We build on what you already have rather than moving you to new software.
Is your accounting support AI-enabled?
Yes. Your team uses AI-assisted tools to code invoices to jobs and cost codes and to flag reconciliation mismatches, which speeds up routine work. Your accountant checks every entry, our QA team reviews the month-end package, and you review and approve all payments and filings. AI does not replace that review.
Can we start with a part-time bookkeeper?
Yes. Many clients start with a part-time or as-needed bookkeeper for busy months and move to full-time as their workload grows. Your bookkeeper stays dedicated to your company rather than shared, and we handle recruiting, training, quality checks, and coverage, so capacity grows or shrinks without you adding headcount.
How fast can we get started?
Most clients finish the free assessment and setup in about an hour, and their construction accountant typically starts within days. On that call we review your software, standards, and current work, then assign the bookkeeper we'd build your team around. Timelines for each month-end close depend on its size and the documents, so we agree on them one month-end close at a time rather than promising a fixed turnaround.
